Karsu has a very distinctive voice: adult, deep and strong. When you hear her singing, you will immediately recognize her voice. Many music professionals have analyzed her voice: "Close your eyes and you will think you are listening to a ‘big, old jazz mama’ from New Orleans".
Her debut album 'CONFESSION' was released in 2012, which received favorable reviews such as four (out of five) stars from NRC and Nu.nl, De Telegraaf wrote: "Amazing album" and Trouw: "Confession is a new star".

In 2019, Karsu made her most personal album ever, which she named 'KARSU'. Songs as Siyah, Sana ne, Reloading my mind and Itiraf have millions of views on YouTube and attracted many followers on social media.
Each year, Karsu went on a theatre tour with her band, each time along with her production crew, just like 'From New York to Istanbul' (2016), 'Play my Strings' (2017), 'Karsu plays Atlantic Records' (2018). During her last theatre tour, she told the story of the founder of Atlantic Records, Ahmet Ertegün. The NRC paper wrote about this performance: "Karsu definitely brings high quality in her performance and is full of dynamics", the Brabants Dagblad: "Versatile and swirling performance" and Theater Paradise online magazine wrote: "The music is great!".
This show has received great attention in Istanbul as well, where Karsu performed it in one of the biggest concert halls of Istanbul, Zorlu Centre and at Ankara Jazz in Ankara. To finalize this tour after having 40 concerts, Karsu performed an impressive show in Cadogan Hall, London in May 2018. Read the reviews of this concert here
In 2019, when Karsu released her latest album 'KARSU', she had a great tour in the Netherlands and Turkey. After that, she performed in many countries, until the pandemic outbreak. In April 2020, she would go on a tour with her two bands in New York, Washington, and Toronto...
Karsu started giving concerts in hospitals for Covid-19 patients, covered songs behind her piano in her living room, and had plenty of time for another passion: cooking. She recorded short cooking video's under the name Karsu’s Kitchen. Surprisingly enough, it was a big success.
In 2021, she was asked as a food columnist for &C magazine and in August 2021 she will be getting her own cooking shows on tv.
Karsu is also an inspiring speaker. She is an example for many young people, who had to struggle for their position in their life. Getting 'there' had not been easy. Having been rejected by the conservatory is what made her follow her passion: music. Watch her TED-talks using the following links: 2016
